Tanzania is in the middle of a genuine fuel transition. By June 2024, the number of vehicles running on CNG had risen to around 7,000 — including three-wheeled motorcycles — an increase from 1,139 in 2021/22, and some industry estimates project the number to have surpassed 15,000 vehicles by 2025.
